About me
Dr. Kathryn Vignone is an English Instructor at SCGSSM where she teaches writing, art history, and interdisciplinary topics that explore the social, ethical, and human dimensions of science and technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies from Cornell University and brings extensive experience in teaching, research, and project leadership focused on the societal impacts of emerging technologies. At GSSM, Dr. Vignone has played a key role in both residential and virtual programs, advising student research projects and co-leading multidisciplinary initiatives such as Bike To The Future, which investigates sustainable transportation systems. Her work bridges humanities and STEM education to prepare students for thoughtful engagement with complex technological challenges. Dr. Vignone is among the inaugural cohort of Faculty Fellows in Artificial Intelligence supported by Google, where she will help develop AI-infused curriculum and opportunities that expand AI literacy and readiness across South Carolina.
